Chris Evans “Captain America” Workout – “DaniGetUrGunz Style!
This summer, my friend Amanda texted me and told me she found some workouts online that we should look at. Of course, we have little boys so we are very knowledgeable about super heroes 🙂 It doesn’t help that the actors are “super” good looking! haha…..We looked online and found some workouts that are similar if not close to the same thing that “Captain America”, “Thor” and “Bane” did to prepare for their roles. So, we printed them out and set out to work one of the circuits the next day. We chose the Captain America one for that day. Little did she know, I broke out all the kids costumes and I made her put them on for some of those workouts! It was so much fun!!! The kids were even in full character! It was a great workout and here is my favorite part, WE HAD FUN DOING IT!!! It doesn’t have to be a chore!! Make your workouts fun and exciting!
This is just an example of workouts that Chris Evans did to prepare for his role as Captain America. Try it and have fun with it. Costumes are optional 🙂 You modify it the way you need to. You chose the amount of each exercise you want to do, add to it if you need to, etc.
This is from the link we found on the workouts:
The thing about Chris Evans workout is that it is nothing out of the ordinary which is a good thing. I think many people think that impressive transformations are made by working out for hours at the gym. That is not the case. He followed a very basic workout routine made up of body weight exercises, but he performed them in circuits.
Body weight circuit training has been really popular and for a good reason. It is because it is the ideal workout for people who have little to no equipment, can’t make it to a gym, but still want to get ripped. A solid workout body weight training routine would go like this. Perform every one of the exercises without rest. After you complete every last one of them you can take a break for 3 minutes to catch your breath.
***WE chose to do 20 of each exercise and then move to the next one……after the whole circuit take a 3 min break —we changed up this workout a little from the original link–
- Tricep dips (did ours on our plyo box)
- Body Weight Squats
- Renegade Rows
- Leg Curls
- Barbell bicep curls
- The Plank (we set a timer on our phone and held for 1 min)
- Lunges (10 each leg)
- Burpees (we also added a push up with our burpees- but you don’t have to)
- Chin Ups
Performing just 3 circuits of these exercises is enough to challenge your muscles while keeping the fat off. Chris Evans performed a basic full body workout split like the one above. But he also stays really active by playing sports. He does not like going to a gym to work out on the treadmill and get on a strict diet. Who can blame him. It is super boring.
So make sure to be active by playing basketball or going to the beach. Do that on top of a 3 full body split with compound exercises like the ones above and you will be in a great shape.
Some fun pics of our workout 🙂
